The Ending - The crew successfully steals
over $163 million from the vault in the Bellagio. Since
there's at least five different stories taking place, the
following is a rundown of how they did it:
1) Yen gets into the vault by stuffing himself
into a change cart. The Malloy brothers, dressed as
Bellagio security people, deliver the cart to a restricted area,
where another security person takes it down the the elevator,
past all the guards and into the vault.
2) Livingston is able to take over the Bellagio
security camera feeds after Saul, who's watching from the
security center as his emeralds are taken to the vault, fakes a
heart attack. Livingston then plays a pre-taped feed to
hide the fact that the monitors have been hijacked.
3) Linus convinces Benedict that Frank is a former
convict and is illegally working in the casino. Linus and
Frank exchange words, and Frank fakes attacking Linus, which
allows Linus the chance to pick Benedict's pocket and grab the
vault security codes.
4) Basher uses the pinch to shut down every electrical
current in Las Vegas for 30 seconds, giving Danny - who's
supposed to be getting the crap kicked out of him by one of
Benedict's men - and Linus enough time to slide down the
elevator shaft before the security sensors come back on.
5) Yen crawls out of the change cart and places
explosives on the inside of the vault door. Linus and
Danny blow the door and start to bag the money.
6) Rusty places a call to Benedict by calling a
cellphone Danny had slipped into Tess's coat pocket. Rusty
tells Benedict that his vault has been hijacked. The deal
is that $80 million is to be taken to a van parked outside while
the other $80 million is wired to explosives in the vault as a
hostage. Benedict agrees to do it and the van drives off.
7) Benedict calls the police, but the call is
intercepted by Livingston. The SWAT team arrives and tries
to take the vault back, but the explosives are detonated and the
money is destroyed. Benedict orders his men to take the
van. The van turns out to be controlled by Virgil using a
remote control. Benedict's men find out that the bags of
money were really stuffed with ads for hookers. Benedict
orders the SWAT team to leave as he stares at a vault filled
with more ads for hookers.
8) The SWAT team turns out to be the crew and they walk
out of the Bellagio with the money. Benedict goes to see
Danny, who's back in the room getting the crap kicked out of
him. Danny makes an offer to return the money if Benedict
leaves Tess. Benedict agrees, but the whole conversation
is being viewed by Tess in one of the Bellagio suites.
Danny explains that he doesn't know who took the money, but he
could find out. Benedict has Danny arrested for parole
violation. Tess leaves Benedict. Danny eventually
gets out of prison and is reunited with Tess and Rusty.
